Long time since my last post, and it's time for an update! (Happy new years too!)

Besides procrastinating beyond all means in posting a tutorial (ごめんなさい) and being liberated from the death traps of classes, to find myself currently thrust into the boring, boring realm of African history course... sigh.

My iTunes library has been flooded with downloads of k-pop music recently. Yes, K-POP. Just as addictive as J-pop. Just as attractive as J-pop. But there's something about K-pop that completely immersed me into the bubble gum pop world of plastic-surgery-addicted-idols (who could rival the Hellenic gods in a beauty contest) more so than Jpop (sorri Arashi~). :x

So here is a list of my current favorite kpop groups:
1. The BBoys from BIGBANG

Notorious for their hip-hop style and incredible talent, these five VIPs of BIGBANG made millions of girls' hearts go wild after debuting in 2006. There's no mystery as to why. Their songs are absolutely addicting, from the smooth vocal talents of Taeyung and Seungri to Daesung's distinct voice to hard rapping skills of T.O.P (<3) to the ever-so talented (and sometimes crazy) leader, G-Dragon.

My favorite member is the resident gangster rapper, T.O.P. Besides his handsome looks, he is the only member that did not undergo YG training and is a contender to Matsujun's ichiban status (SRSLY!! I'm a torn fangirl). Not to mention, it's really, really, really cute trying to wake him up. ^3^

2. The YGLadies who bought the 'Fire': 2NE1

The "female Big Bang", 2NE1 (Minzy, CL, Dara, Bom) bought the fire in 09 and there's no sign of slowing down these YGladies. What is there not to love about them? Addictive and catchy songs, crazy cool fashion styles, and charismatic personalities... CHECKCHECKCHECK. I really admire their outrageous style choices because they're still cool, no matter how far fetch it is.

3. I want nobody, nobody, but Wonder Girls!
If you do not know who Wonder Girls are, you have been living under a rock. 09 was blow-out year as they debuted in the US and reached #1 in the Billboard Charts for their infectious song and dance to "NOBODY". However, these girls have more to offer than just one song. Check out their pass hits such as, "Tell Me", "Irony", and "So Hot" that garnered the huge fan base in Korea. Next mission: to take over the world! And no one will be able to resist because they're so hot, hot.

4. I rike the MUZIK of 4minute

HyunAh (ex Wonder Girls) is now the face and faux leader of 4minute (along with Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, and Sohyun). They have been plagued with comparisons to 2NE1 (who debuted AFTER them), but 4minute has a bada$$, sexy attitude and style all their own. Everytime I hear their songs, it just makes me want to dance (wish I had matching glow-in-the-dark kicks too). BOOM BOOM, rike it, rike it.

5. Brown Eyed Girls will make you sway your hips and heart stop

4minute's sexy "headphones" dance move is nothing to the hip sway done by the ladies of BEG, whose popularity skyrocketed after debuting their new image in 09. You will become a fan of BEG after the I say the *magic* word... Abracadabra!

And, of course, how can I not mention the Dirty Eyed Girls parody??? LOLz!

My poor livejournal has been neglected for far too long! Sorry. >,< I've been really busy with studying and fully capitalizing on being snorlax-like over spring break. Tee-hee.

A new layout and banner for a refreshing start to spring into a more lively season. Please see sidebar for proper credits.

To treat everyone from my absence, I present you with scans! The scans are a bit old, but nevertheless still good. Let's see... the following scans are from JOSEI SEVEN and a few randoms.

Fan girl outburst: MATSUJUN MAKES A BETTER DOMYOJI THAN LEE MIN HO!!! As Boys Before Flowers is winding down, I can full heartidly admit that HYD will always be my favorite because it captured the esscene of the manga the best. Not to mention that Matsujun is in it too ;P

Minimum Arashi- Jun Matsumoto

It is here, the Minimum Arashi- Jun Matsumoto photobook in all it's eye candy galore! :D Below is a short preview of some pages + my side comments. I took photos of the photobook instead of scanning because I did not want to ruin the spin/cover. If you really want HQ scans, I am sorry but you will need to find a different source or intercept the shipment of one of these books. The preview is to satisfy anyone's curiosity of the quality of future Minimum Arashi photobooks. Please enjoy~!

The beginning of Ch. 2. I don't think they selected good photos of chibi Matsujun :/ The rest of this section is MJ during his Shin Sawada days (aka Gokusen).

Next chapter is "Drama", which starts off with 1 photo of Ban-chan...

then the rest is him as Domyouji! Which isn't a bad thing, but it would have been nice if they included other photos from his dramas ^^;

I'm not bothered that he smokes, but more so that he looks completely different in the two pics! Almost creepy! T.T

My overall impression: it's a nice little memorabilia to own if you're a Matsujun fan (like me ^o^). For a mini, it's "ok". The selection and quality of MJ pictures is not the best, but safices for being a mini. Go figure. If you want to have a good quality photo book then I would suggest to purchase the Otakara one (it's bigger, better, and more HQ photos).

Update: Matsujun Doll Tutorial

Hello! This quick post is to let you know that I am feverishly working on the Matsujun Doll Tutorial, which is taking longer than expected. I commented some of you stating that it might be up by Friday/Saturday, and I am completely sorry that I was not able to follow through. ごめん~!! m(_ _)m

In regards to the tutorial, it will be broken up into different posting sections because it is rather long (mainly the prep work). The tutorial posting order will go as followed (tentative):

I. Introduction/materials list/Basic Shapes sheet
II. Layering front:
   a. Head/face (hair, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, cheeks)
   b. Body, clothes (t-shirt, jacket, collar, necklace, pants, belt, gold "buttons")
III. Layering back:
   a. Head (hair)
   b. Body, clothes (jacket, pants, belt, gold "buttons")
IV. Arms
   a. Sleeves (badge [beads + trimmings], gold "rope")
   b. Hands (attaching to sleeves)
V. Shoes
VI. Putting everything together
   a. Head (sewing + stuffing)
   b. Body (sewing + stuffing)
   c. Attaching head + body

Spring semester starts on Monday, and I will have less free time to work on the tutorial >.<. Please, please be patient.

Matsujun Doll

♫ 過ぎ去りし日々　振り返ることも出来ずに　Everyday ♫

a little information:
+time to sew: 12 hrs+
+dimensions: 14.5 x 12 x 2.5" (lxwxh; estimated)
+material: felt; gold beads + gold ribbon
+sewing machine: NONE! It was all hand-sewn
+easiest part(s): making the blush cheeks o^.^o
+hardest part(s): arranging the golden rope, sewing the gold ribbon around the rectangles, & attaching his head to body.

It was a little hard to decide which PV Matsujun doll should be dressed in, but "We can make it" was choice. Matsujun looked so cool in his outfit, ne~! Plus his hair and the first 14 seconds was very sexy ;P. Hehe.

For the most part, the doll is as accurate as I possibly could make it after watching the PV 209348203984093284 times. The shape of his hair was quite hard to outline. Not to mention the detailing of the costume, ne~! I'm proud of my doll and it keeps me company whenever I fan girl over Arashi/Matsujun. :P

SCANS: Josei Seven

You know what that means, eh~? IT'S SCAN TIME! Considering that Josei Seven generally has one page of our beloved boys per magazine, I decided that it would only be fair to treat everyone with scans from three magazines. From what I browsed through on other sites, no one scans Josei Seven and I would not blame them! It's not the best source to get scans (-___-;;) But nevertheless, I hope that everyone can find some sort of delight.

I was very disappointed with this issue. As you can see, there is only one tiny photo of Matsujun. (ToT)

That's it for Josei Seven! That was sort of disappointing, eh? And you're probably cursing me for wasting your time >_<; So, I'll try to make it up with random scans of pages my friend tore out for me. Onwards~!

Bonne année! It's a bit late, but I hope everyone had a great start in the new year. Just the usual fireworks and pigging out for me ^^;.

As for Arashi, I scanned a bunch of magazines to share but cannot find it on my computer (GOMEN!). Hope to find them soon for all of you~!!! In the meantime, maybe I'll scan some of my favorite photo's from Otakara Photo & Episode- Matsumoto Jun, eh? Currently, my mission to supply scans may be briefly delayed since my schedule is getting busy again. Please be patient.

In the video game realm, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days is on my list of "must buy game". Scheduled to be released in Spring 2009 for Japan (late in 2009 for US), the graphics look amazing and the 3D real time battle system is still present. Plot wise, it is nestled between the games of KH: Chains of Memory and KH2; and chopped full of mysteries and surprises.

Update #1: YATTA~! I found the scans and will post them up within this week. Besides more scans, I'm working on my LJ layout and hope it turns out pretty.

hello~!

i'm really excited to post my first entry with scans of arashi and hana kimi! i'm still getting used to the process of scanning and livejournal, so please bare with me. these scans were taken from the dec (?) 08 issue of ~~a magazine (i don't know the title, gomen!)~~ josei seven** and oct 07 issue of popolo. please enjoy the scans and comment ^_^.

*side note: my scanner couldn't fit the entire page of popolo, so some parts might be cut off. gomen! ><

Oh, I remember why I quit on you livejournal. However, time has past and I am willing to put aside our differences and "make it work" (Tim Gun style). The art of blogging shall be reawaken from it's deep slumber since the Xanga era.

Let's see...

I necessarily don't have interesting/wimsical thoughts but I really do love food! So I dedicate my entries to my consumption of "nutrition". It won't be one of those extravegent journals. It's college food! And any food places around campus *coughthesushiplacecough*. Maybe with little interruptions with life or anything Arashi/Matsujun<33/idol related or randomness.
